When U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly confirmed the Microsoft settlement Friday to the dismay of Evil Empire haters everywhere, I immediately thought of my friend Ze Ayala. Ze is a Windows survivor. He spent years of frustration railing against Microsoft's monopolistic practices and software mediocrity.
