It's a World Record! Microsoft and MSN smashed Live Aid’s world record for the fastest produced and broadcast music video today – to celebrate the official launch Windows XP.
The record features the new single 'There's a Silence' by indie band ‘the Electric Soft Parade’, widely touted as the ‘new Coldplay.' The single will be released on 29 October 2001. (There's also a cameo of Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer...)
The clock for the record breaking attempt was started by a Guinness World Record official at 9 a.m., with the video hitting the 'net just three hours and 46 minutes later. The previous record holders were Mick Jagger and David Bowie, who produced the video for 'Dancing in the Streets' in about three days' time.
