Overclockers New Zealand have released their comparative review of Three Intel 865PE Chipset Powered MAT Motherboards.
Here is an excerpt from the review:
The first i865PE motherboard from ASUS that implemented a PAT alike function has proven to be a great success. It pushes the 865PE's performance to the Canterwood chipset level with a much cheaper price. Since then, other makers have also released BIOSes that enables similar function in order to compete in this market segment. However, the term "PAT" is kind of a sensitive word to use and vendors invent their own terms to label a PAT alike function. Game Accelerator, PBE (Performance Boost Engine), AMM (Aggressive Memory Mode), and MAT (Memory Accelerated Technology), you named it; they are basically the same thing. I will just use MAT to denote the PAT alike function in this review. Today, we bring you a shootout of three MAT boards from ABIT, Albatron, and Gigabyte.
