In a move that will patch security holes in the MSN Messenger network but also lock users of third-party messenging software out of their network, Microsoft is making changes to its MSN Messenger service. Backtracking on previous statements that they wouldn't update the software on the Macintosh platform, Microsoft will release a new version of MSN Messenger for OS 9 on August 27th, but only for those users with 9.2.2 Users of OS 9 older than this must either upgrade or be left behind. | ||
