Waltham-based Lionbridge Technologies Inc. yesterday announced a new agreement with Microsoft Inc. that formalizes Lionbridge’s role as a localization and testing provider for Microsoft products through June 2005. Lionbridge’s executives placed the potential value of the contract between $40 million and $60 million. Microsoft has named Lionbridge a global premier provider of localization services. As such, Lionbridge will translate Microsoft products and technical documentation into the right language and correct technical format for the Microsoft’s large international customer base. The program’s goal is to identify qualified and competitive suppliers who can handle the majority of Microsoft’s outsourced localization work.
