XBoxed have posted a series of Questions & Answers with Pharaoh Productions, David Allen. Here are some of the Q&As: Question : Many console gamers view "patching" as a PC-only function and a sign of an unfinished game. Of course, its through patching that you add content to keep the game lively and, more importantly, avoid the cheat-fest trap that PSO has fallen into. So the question is, how do you deliver an obviously needed feature while not turning off gamers who are unfamiliar with positive side of "patching"? Answer : I don`t think gamers are turned off by anything that enhances or makes the game better – period. Even if a game has problems, if you play it and enjoy it, you will almost always be excited about a patch if it makes the game better (which is what patches are for). I don`t think patches are a sign of a ‘bad game’ as long as the game is 100% playable before the patches. The only thing we need to keep a close eye on is the Xbox side of things – we don`t have the luxury of large-scale patches with the console system. | ||
