Fortunately, all you X-freaks out there won't have to wait too long; in fact, you only have to wait a couple days after Xmas day when Blood Wake arrives on store shores. Having spent quite a bit of time on the virtual high seas, Blood Wake combines the chaotic combat nature of Twisted Metal with the crazy water physics of Wave Race to create engrossing video game experience.

The story begins as some local sea-raiding pirates have rescued you, a naval lieutenant, from a surprise attack. Your fleet has been completely wiped out by some very evil pirates that have been terrorizing these parts of the ocean. You've basically been "adopted" by these sea-faring brigands and together, you help these pirates attack and pillage other merchant and pirate ships while you plan out your schemes for revenge. The story is told through some pretty detailed pencil-like sketches, giving the game a pretty rough, but stylish look. Then, you start driving around in your converted powerboat war machines with some of the most incredible water physics seen yet... and the water isn't just pretty to look at.
