THIS could well be the year that Microsoft Corp makes its most aggressive moves into a market that it believes has been relatively under-served: Small and medium businesses (SMBs). The US software giant recently unveiled version 1.2 of its “mid-tier” Microsoft Business Solutions Customer Relationship Management solution to the region. CRM 1.2 marked its most significant effort in expanding into the mid-level CRM market, company officials said. Within a week, Microsoft also announced the availability of Microsoft Office 2003, Small Business Edition, which boasts of “semi-CRM” functionality for automating sales and marketing activities, along with the standard Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. | ||
