  • DOWNLOAD: BareGrep v1.01c Get a "grep" on those files and find them by using text strings and strings of binary data. Those familiar with Unix will recognize "grep" in the name as it's based on the Unix grep tool. Like Unix, it has command-line capabilities. Included in the program is a regular expressions reference. The utility is faster than using Windows' Find utility. Often, I have to refer back to old reviews I've written for Lockergnome and it's a long list. Let's say I'm looking for files that have "CSS" mentioned, I entered "CSS" in the find box and "c:\ lockergnome\archived\*.txt" in the files box. This means search only .txt files in the archived folder, which also has .doc files. Not only does it produce the list of files that have "CSS" in it, but also it lists the text where it is mentioned. This is better than opening all the files that appear in Windows' Find results list and doing a CTRL+F for the specific word.
