Microsoft's popular e-mail program Outlook 2002, part of the software maker's new Office XP offering, has been revamped to reject the kinds of attachments that are often used by hackers to spread viruses. However, some are concerned that the effort could stifle legitimate file transfers or promote complacency in users. The revised e-mail software, scheduled for release with Office XP late next month, comes in response to a number of virus attacks that have targeted Outlook, including the I Love You, Melissa and Anna Kournikova outbreaks. | ||
