Core recently received a beta version of Circus Maximus, Kodiak Interactive's upcoming chariot racer for Xbox. Circus Maximus builds on a basic dual racing/fighting gameplay premise with varying courses and characters. The player can choose the type of chariot, horse, chariot driver, and warrior, allowing for a multitude of different combinations. You can either pilot your chariot and fend off challengers at the same time -- which is not as difficult as it sounds -- or have the computer pilot for you while you attack your enemies. It's clear that Kodiak has done some research into the Roman era, with courses ranging from far away Germania (think war scenes in the film Gladiator) to the heart of Roman games, the Colosseum. | ||
