Solar, wind powered van runs Windows OS | |

Gives a whole new meaning to modding and fans. A YELLOW VAN powered by the sun, a windmill and batteries is on the road in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
The van has a range of 30 miles with a cruising speed of 30 miles an hour and a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour. The inventor, Peter Perkins, says his van, which has a Windows based dashboard, wasn't cheap to build, with the components totalling £5,000 or so. The base vehicle only cost him £250, the motor £750, the batteries £750, the controller £500, the charger £500, the solar cells £1,000 and other bits and pieces another £2,000.
