The attorneys general of six states on Friday added their support to the government's antitrust case against Microsoft and expressed concerns about how the company's new Windows XP operating system will affect competition in the software industry. In a letter sent to Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, Vermont's William Sorrell and five other attorneys general said they wanted to "add our voices to those calling on Microsoft to remedy the antitrust problems that are now evident." "We are concerned that Windows XP may involve additional unlawful attempts by Microsoft to maintain its operating system monopoly," Sorrell wrote in his letter to Ballmer. | ||
