Microsoft Corp.'s long awaited, controversial new enterprise software licensing terms take effect next week. Over the last couple weeks, we've gauged the plans of our readers with respect to the plans through an online poll. Generally speaking, the results are somewhat more favorable to Microsoft, with a higher percentage of companies getting on board than there were three months ago when we fielded a similar reader poll. Still, the highest percentage of enterprises are still reporting a fairly strong level of resistance to the new plans, which Microsoft recently said were helping boost its revenue in this difficult IT spending climate.
