Microsoft to challenge EU penalty | |

Microsoft this week will appeal against a landmark European Union antitrust decision and ask an EU court to suspend the order pending the appeal. "We believe we have a strong case," said Tom Brookes, a Microsoft spokesman in Brussels. The European Commission, the EU's executive arm, in March said Microsoft had illegally "bundled" its Windows Media Player audiovisual software with its Windows operating system and used its monopoly in the market for desktop personal-computer operating systems to illegally muscle its way into the market for software for more powerful computers called workgroup servers. | ||
