On its first day of DVD and VHS availability, ``Pearl Harbor,'' Touchstone Pictures' sweeping wartime tale, has delivered colossal home entertainment sales, it was announced today by Robert Chapek, president of Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Enthusiastic consumers have purchased a combined 3 million DVD and VHS versions of this stirring wartime drama, making this home entertainment debut one of the most spectacular in the history of the industry. ``Pearl Harbor's'' performance is the biggest DVD day-one sales event ever for Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Commenting on this exciting achievement, Chapek said: ``We are very proud of `Pearl Harbor' and the way that audiences have brought the film into their homes. This is a special film for us, since above its entertainment value, it honors the brave men and women who served their country 60 years ago.'' | ||
