Gartner bangs Microsoft drum again | |

THE GARTNER Group is predicting that it's not Microsoft which should fear the Linux operating system, but the Unix vendors instead. That will obviously re-assure Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer – they've been worrying needlessly about Linux, and should go for a relaxing holiday in Phuket rather than flying round the world cosying up to governments. According to a report in CXO Today, Gartner made a presentation in Mumbai yesterday which claimed RISC/Unix alliances will crumble in the face of a Lintel (Linux-Intel) onslaught by 2006. | ||
