With this release, Microsoft .NET Alerts is now implemented as a Web service. Alert submission and subscription management are performed through Web method calls. Version 6.0 will include the following features and enhancements:

  • Support for longer, richer e-mail alerts
  • Support for customizing content according to endpoint
  • Larger, more customizable pop-up messages
  • Broadcast lists
  • Better tools and samples and updated documentation
  • Delivery channel for Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 Notification Services
  • Support for interactive mobile-device alerts
  • Click-through tracking for e-mail alerts and pop-up messages
  • Improved branding support
  • Testing build of MSN Messenger version 6.0
