CDRLabs.com has posted another of their informative DVD writer reviews, this time on TDK's dual format 8x DVD burner, the Indi DVD 880N. This drive supports writing DVD+R and DVD-R media at 8x, DVD+RW and DVD-RW at 4x, CD-R at 32x, and CD-RW at 16x. Here's just a little bit of what they thought of the drive:
It's hard not to like TDK's new DVD writer. The 880N not only looks good, it performs well and offers a good number of features. Based on the popular NEC ND-2500A, the 880N is one of the first drives on the market with the ability to write to DVD-R and DVD+R media at 8x. While not the fastest DVD writer we've tested, it was able to write 4GB of data in less than 9 minutes. The 880N's writing quality was also quite good and unlike Memorex's new DVDRW, it has the ability to write to select 4x DVDR media at 8x. The drive also performed very well in our rewriting tests. In fact, the 880N had some of the fastest writing times we've seen with both DVD-RW and DVD+RW media.
