I am really excited about the PDC. Other Microsoft Bloggers have been hyping Indigo, a web-services technology, but very little has been said about Avalon. Attendees have even thought of skipping the sessions of Avalon. Aghast. I think that the best new technology hands-down in the PDC is this Avalon. Avalon's been highly secretive until Microsoft unveiled PDC information this past month. That's why you haven't heard much about it, but it will make an impact. I compare it to watching the original "Matrix" the first time as an unsuspecting member of the audience and being blown away from beginning to end. People in the press and weblogs have been calling a souped-up graphics subsystem. This has got to be a understatement. Flatlander compares in his "Tea Leaves of Avalon" it more to MFC, WinForms, User, common controls and so on, which I feel is still misses the mark. | ||
