@23, 25. Great articles. Protected Mode has proven to be a veyr capable member of the integrity mechanism around not just IE 7/8, but any process that faces public, or other untrusted networks. There's even a brokering agent that stops processes outside and lower in priority than user space, that prevents escalation outside of PM.
The best part is that any developer, including those an FF and Mozilla, can make use of the new tools, which include securable objects (the model used by PM and related processes). The real question here is why FF and Mozilla aren't making use of them, because they could and they could make the web a safer place to visit. Thanks again for the great articles. They explain a lot and in ways that a lot of people will understand. |

| well after playing with this i had to unistall. too buggy and crash prone for me. i will wait till they get a more stable build out but for now back to ie7. |

| #28: As with all software running on different hardware with personalized settings IE8 is acting differently for each of us. I found it to be very bug free. In fact, what I earlier reported as a bug may in fact be poor web site design, which is fixable. I let emotion step on logic. I like IE8, even though I'm using Opera to compose this post. |
