In the context of Windows Vista, an "Asshat" is a person who steals the operating system, uses it illegally, never patches it - ever, and then complains about it endlessly and publicly. Asshats vigorously attack Windows Vista in public forums and viciously assail any user of Vista who so much as likes the new operating system. Microsoft Partners are not business people in the minds of asshats, they are shills - mindlessly supporting Microsoft's domination of the world. | ||

We talk more about each other than technology. Don’t get me wrong, it’s entertaining to a point, but if you want an honest exchange of technical ideas you’re in the wrong place. I cannot disagree with that statement. Too true! |

I read Ketchum's blog post and had a good laugh. However, he did forget one of the most prevalent asshats: the MS Sycophant Asshat. This asshat is easily spotted in the wild by the following characteristics:
1. Unwavering fealty to Microsoft and all its products 2. Complete and total disregard & denial for any of MS' evil deeds or product faults 3. The attempt to discredit anyone with a contrary opinion by labeling them a) an idiot, b) a liar, or c) part of a world-wide media-perpetuated conspiracy I do find it a little sad that Ketchum felt the need to run away after he got called out on his "Blame the User" attempt. At least now he's comfortable posting on his blog from his Ivory Tower where he doesn't have to defend his opinions from pesky commoners that may disagree with him. I imagine he got used to having his ego stroked in here when he was holding court with all the other microbots fawning over his every word. Oh well. Easy come, easy go. |

Unfortunately, the "true way" is just hate and ignorance. Being for something is not a crime ... except in the world of the Asshat. |

Hmmm... I guess I look at Lloyd's post as being mostly frustrated and reactionary, if not a bit immature. But really, I can't blame him. He's contributed lots of thought and sweat into this site itself and into the posts (and even private emails). He's given lots of free, detailed, thorough advice, and gone out of his way to help several people here (myself included), even if the person wasn't particularly friendly toward him. He gives a lot back to this community and to this industry.
And what does he get in return... a slap in the face for his efforts? And now we snicker about it? No one else here has gone as far in trying to assist others on this site, and most of us have done nothing. I don't really agree with Lloyd posting that, but maybe some of us should take a look at ourselves and what (if any) positive impact we make here before throwing stones. |

| #34: By Lloyd's definition, I am most definitely not an asshat, as I am not running an illegal, unpatched version of Vista. Thus, I am disqualified from that label. If thinking that XP is good enough for the tasks I currently perform makes me an asshat, then you have imbibed way too much from the Microsoft kool-aid fountain. And that would put you in the same kindergarten class with Parkkker and his sidekick Mini-Moore. |

| Sometimes Sentinel’s head is so far up Latch’s butt, he can taste the Canadian bacon Latch had for breakfast. Although this is occasionally annoying, it doesn’t fall into the hate category. |
