#26: part of the problem is that you consider a lot of things "lies" and "distortions" when it fits your pre-existing mindset, regardless of the evidence to the contrary.
While I have been extremely critical of MS, I do not lie. I have been wrong before, and have admitted when I'm wrong (which is something not many others here can say). The problem is that everything can be spun to cast it in a more positive light. If I shoplifted something, you would call me a thief. I might say (if I was spinning) that I'm acting to benefit my family and providing reasons of employment for security personnel. Both are true, but my explanation attempts to portray a negative as a positive. Many companies do this. MS does this a LOT. Since this site is about MS and Windows, I comment about MS and Windows.
and it's not like other companies and organizations aren't self-serving)
This site is about MS, and as such I post in context of MS. I don't care how evil company X is when we're discussing MS. It's still not a justification of what they do. The fact that someone , somewhere, does worse is not a defense.
"Even though I see it, I will not believe it (because of who it is)."
More appropriate would be "Even though they say it, I will not believe it because of what they've said before."
