#27, in the context of an OS, add "abandoned" or better, "not even considered" - by anyone who used and wrote for a multices and knows what *nix are and what they are not - now.... that, Latch, is tried, tested and certainly true. Ahhh.... 1923 was such a sweet year - the world was filled with a mix of promise and abandon. There have been none quite like it since.
Yes, been to Tijauna many times - long before it was a corrupt mess - back when both peoples - American and Mexican used to walk back and forth across "Friendship Park" - before there was a border one could recognize. Swam and surfed the sloughs, too and K55 for many decades. Then came the 60's and it all went to heck. You can't imagine how beautiful and amazing automated gunnery computers were when they first came out... they allowed for the impossible, bulls-eye shooting <down> of buzz-bombs [V1 flying bombs]. Of course, the underlying maths have always been there - and people so often spoke of machine processing... long before the tech for anything like an analog computer was invented - much less a digital one. It would surprise you, and as much as I liked the model-A Ford, I don't care to drive one today.
