lketchum--sorry, I meant that as a joke (yup, like Prince... I'm batting .200, not very good!).
The user training issue has become huge for us--it's impossible to get people to go. Consistent UI works both for and against you--now, folks feel when they see the File|Edit|View menu that, "hey, I know this." Doesn't work so well for something like Access, does it? Back in the WordPerfect days, training was much better attended because people felt like they had to go to understand it and do their job. Now they think they can get by without it....
Anyways, I think it's still beneficial to give the "orb" a name, whether it's Orb or something else. Terminology is very useful, and I try to make a habit of not spoon-feeding people computing skills. They use computers for their jobs. I wouldn't expect a carpenter to say "I'm hammer-illiterate." We're big boys and girls now, and I refuse to let people purposefully dumb themselves down. They are capable of amazing things--if they don't handicap themselves from the get-go.
