GD: While you have captured some top titles, like Everquest and the Rayman series, other games have been criticized for being lackluster. Do you agree? What do you think you can do to raise the level of gameplay?
YG: Quality is always our priority, in every game we make: quality gameplay, quality design, quality sound … Rayman is one of the best illustrations of what the Ubi Soft teams are able to do. There are some games that are not perfect, but we try to do our best to limit their number. We have set up a quality control team, whose role is to ensure that the quality of the games answer to Ubi Soft's standards in all areas: game design, graphic design…
But in the end, the most important thing is the opinion of the gamer: if the player has fun with a game, we can say that it is a real success! However, while hardcore gamers feel really concerned with the quality of the gameplay, casual gamers are more interested in immersing themselves into a universe.
