A major buffer overrun vulnerability was discovered in a recent version of the 'zlib' library used by much of the software out there today (including Microsoft software). Internet Explorer, Internet Information Services, and probably more products are vulnerable to specially crafted attacks. Many other, non-Microsoft, software products are vulnerable including FireFox, the Apache and Apache 2 web servers, many utilities and servers on Linux and other Unix-like operating systems.
