The characters inside your favourite picture book have been given the chance to come to life, thanks to technology developed by a former New Plymouth man.
Mark Billinghurst has spent the past two years working on Magic Book Technology, which uses virtual reality and three-dimensional animation to allow readers to interact with and become a part of illustrated stories.
Magic Book Technology is made up of a hand-held, head-mounted display that allows readers to see illustrations and characters as three-dimensional images.
