There's always been a little bit of Microsoft in our lives. Well, make that quite a bit. No matter what you do, Bully Bill has you covered. Take the downfall of Netscape, for instance. Seven years ago, this pioneering user-friendly browser enjoyed close to 90 per cent of the browser market, but that was before Microsoft muscled in. Bundling Internet Explorer (IE) with its ubiquitous Windows operating system allowed Microsoft to take the wind out of Netscape's sails -- and sales. Today, Netscape's share of the browser market languishes at less than 5 per cent. As for pioneer Marc Andreessen, he's wised up and moved on to better things.
