Deploying and installing managed code smart tags securely in Microsoft® Office XP currently requires the assembly be hosted in an unmanaged smart tag proxy component called a shim. The explanation on what a shim is and why it is currently needed to deploy smart tag DLLs has been discussed in detail in Deployment of Managed COM Add-Ins in Office XP and therefore won't be repeated here. This article will concentrate on how to use the smart tag shim solution template so that you can successfully deploy your managed smart tags under the highest Office XP security setting. | ||
