Microsoft has asked us to remove the link we had this morning because it is not yet publicly available, despite the fact that it is an actively working link. They informed us that the version may not work for everyone and may cause some people errors, and that the official version will be released in a few weeks. They promised to let us know first when it is officially available. The features, build #, etc. are right, though: MSN Explorer 6.1 contains several enhancements. We've taken several screenshots for you to view of some of the new features before you install it:
- Integrated Media Player playing a video.
- Email client can now show 50 emails per page (note: our install machine had the beta version of MSN Explorer Germany and it didn't overwrite the beta version's german text in the email client.).
- Email client now has an enhanced composer/editor, along with spell check for users that have Internet Explorer 5.5 and greater, as well as Microsoft Office, or Works.
- Now you can join MSN Internet Access, and keep your current Hotmail address!
- Local news, weather, and city information is available now in a popup by clicking on your city at the top of the My Stuff bar.
- My Stuff bar is now retractable.
- Interesting personalization feature that allows MSN Explorer to greet you when you sign on with your first name if your name is included in their recordable database.
- My Stocks popup now includes an ad bar at the bottom.
