Tracked against all other forms of workplace communication, including social media sites, instant messages, texts messages, phone conversations, and face-to-face chit-chats, e-mail took top honors as the communication platform that people felt they used more over the past year than any time prior. A total of 15 percent of respondents said that they felt they used instant messaging less over the past year—the highest response for any of the aforementioned communication methods.
