Microsoft jumped from fifth to second place in Brand Finance’s new list of the world’s most valuable brands, but it’s still behind first-place Google.
The Microsoft brand is worth $42.8 billion this year, up from a value of $33.6 billion in 2010, according to the list released today. Separately, Microsoft’s Xbox brand was ranked 207th with a value of $4.7 billion, down from 142nd place last year, when it was worth $5.7 billion.
