Microsoft continued their management-swapping with EA today as they announced that they have hired former Electronic Arts VP John Schappert to head their Xbox Live service. At EA, Shappert was in charge of EA online, and hopes to be able to transfer those skills to his new job at Microsoft. “I am thrilled to have John join the deep bench of proven talent already on Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business,” said his new boss Don Mattrick in a press release. “John’s expertise will help us focus on expanding and enriching our market leadership with LIVE in areas like online services while broadening our audience. John will also build on the great work already happening in the developer community working with Chris Satchell and the XNA organization.”
