Solectron Will Provide Xbox Warranty, Repair Services in Japan, Australia | |

Solectron Corp's (SLR) Global Services unit will provide after-sales service and support for Microsoft Corp's Xbox video game console in Japan and Australia . Financial terms of the three-year agreement weren't disclosed. Solectron said it will perform all warranty and nonwarranty repair and refurbishment for the Xbox in Japan and Australia . Solectron said it plans to service the Xbox at its fast-depot centers in Koriyama, Japan and Sydney . In October 2001 , Microsoft chose Solectron to provide similar services for the Xbox in North America. Earlier Monday, Fitch Ratings downgraded Solectron's credit rating, citing reduced customer demand, while Moody's placed Solectron under review for a possible downgrade. On Friday, Standard & Poor's downgraded Solectron's rating. | ||
