Ever since the runaway success of Tony Hawk, countless companies have been trying to latch onto the look, feel, and playability (not to mention consumer dollars) that the series has since become known for. There have been too many mediocre, forgettable, and outright awful skateboarding games to name, and the idea behind Hawk has comfortably extended out to other extreme sports -- namely, BMX stunt riding. Activision once more set the bar for BMX stunts with their Mat Hoffman BMX series (which used the Tony Hawk engine), and while Acclaim's first attempt with their own Dave Mirra line didn't exactly bowl the gaming world over, they're back with a sequel. Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 takes the same stunt-based gameplay of the original and refines it in pretty much every way. And thankfully, while it's not at all original, or particularly distinctive, pulling some crazy air on your Xbox is a lot of fun just the same.
