E3 2005: Call of Duty 2 Eyes-On
Forget the crappy trailer, the real game looks incredible.
This game just keeps looking better and better. Up until today we had only seen a couple of British missions in the arid areas of North Africa from the PC version. That and the rather lackluster 360 trailer at Microsoft's Press Conference. We were waiting as patiently as possible to see what the American and Russian missions had in store for us. Infinity Ward and Activision granted one of our wishes by showing off their Pointe du Hoc mission in the Call of Duty 2 PC theater. This. Mission. Rocks.
Pointe du Hoc, for those that don't know, was a really screwed up mission during the Normandy invasion on D-Day that was of vital importance to its success. On top of the bluffs of Pointe du Hoc sat six huge 155 mm guns that could fire a shell around ten miles, leaving both the Utah and Omaha beach landing strips in a bad way.
