Digital Extremes' lead designer Pancho Eekels has published this weeks update
for their upcoming Xbox FPS title, Unreal Championship. Here's the full update:
- We have started on implementing the game's interface. This is a part of
development where things get tricky and cool at the same time.
- LavaGiant2 is nearing completion. I tried not to go overboard with all
kinds of nifty new features, but have been enhancing the game play that it
already had and added minor adjustments and tweaks. It now features
symmetrical bases as opposed to the original. The skiff level is the biggest
addition plus the lava has been pushed to the side so that the chance of
falling in lava is many times smaller. And of course, due to the new Unreal
engine, it looks way better.
- Ader has been working hard on the AI, diving deeper and deeper into this
highly complex realm, making sure that the bots will work nice with our new
game types, plus listen to the instructions given by the captain (the player).
