No more lines. No more late fees. No more midnight trips to the local video store. And now Wal-Mart DVD Rentals is making its online rental service even more affordable with a new plan of just $15.54 per month for unlimited rentals. Wal-Mart DVD Rentals has also expanded its distribution network by adding more distribution points, which means a shorter turnaround time for receiving the DVDs, and now offers a wider assortment of DVDs.
"Based on valuable feedback from our early subscribers, we made significant improvements to our service," said Matt Sevick, manager of Wal-Mart DVD Rentals. "We now look forward to letting more customers know about the terrific value, added convenience, and deeper selection offered through our online DVD rental service." Customers can sign up for Wal-Mart DVD Rentals at Walmart.com, choose from one of three monthly subscription plans, and never be charged for late fees or postage.
Since the initial test launch last October, customers can now select to have unlimited movie rentals with two DVDs out at one time, for the low monthly subscription rate of $15.54. However, for those who wish to receive unlimited movie rentals with three or four DVDs out at one time, customers can pay a monthly subscription rate of $18.76 and $21.94, respectively.
Wal-Mart has also added 1,000 more titles, resulting in more than 13,000 DVD titles available for rental -- almost 13 times more than the local rental store. Additionally, to speed up the time of delivery for its customers, allowing them to receive and watch even more movies every month, Wal-Mart has opened new distribution points for the DVD rentals across the country, including California, Georgia, Arkansas, New York, Nevada, and Indiana, and plans to open more in the future.
