  Microsoft DirectX Interim Build 0620 Released to Testers

Thanks Claude. The DirectX 8.1 interim SDK release will only install on Windows XP RC1 and above. If you are testing Window XP Client Beta 2, please continue using DirectX 8.1 Beta 1 until the release of Windows XP RC1. This release includes close to 320 new bug fixes since the DirectX 8.1 Beta released. Many of these fixes address performance issues, improving the user’s experience and overall stability.

  • D3DX In D3DX there have been a number of updates. A few of the updates include: D3DX math function CPU optimizations, new methods on PMesh, loading volumes and cube textures from resources, and several new functions (D3DXMatrixMultiplyTranspose(), D3DXQuaternionSquadSetup(), D3DXSplitMesh(), D3DXIntersectTri() and D3DXComputeNormalMap()).
  • DirectShow: There are several new DirectShow samples and many updates to existing samples. New C++ samples include: Capture\AudioCap, Capture\PlayCapMoniker, Misc\DMOEnum, Misc\Mapper Players\JukeboxASF, Players\PlayWndASF, Players\PlayDMO, Players\StillView
