Game Faction have posted a review of the EA game, F1 2002. They gave the game a final score of 72%. Here is part of the review:
The handling is the most important part of any racing game, talk about stating the obvious, well maybe to you the reader but this is an aspect most driving games don't get right. In F12002 there are two handling modes, Normal and Simulation. Normal is basically an arcade option, where the handling has been simplified to make it easy for you to drive, they've taken it to the extreme as the cars have way too much grip, to give you an idea of how much grip lap times are usually 10/15 seconds faster than those achieved in real life. The simulation mode isn't much better, this grip is taken away and replaced with chronic under steer, the front tires just don't grip at all and its certainly not realistic. Saying that the normal handing mode is fun and challenging in its own way because you have to go round corners at ultra high speeds.
