Over the years, Microsoft has taken products with excellent, catchy codenames and rebranded them with boring and repetitive lines like "Windows Live" and ".NET". After being criticized time and time again for terrible marketing, one might be inclined to think that the company would maybe, just maybe, try something different, but of course it never does. So anyway, after that short rant, I'd like to introduce everyone to the new name for Microsoft's killer enterprise search application: Windows Live Search.
If you are at all familiar with Windows Live's services, you know that there is already a Windows Live Search. Well, this one's different, and will remain separate from the other Windows Live Search. The new Windows Live Search will allow users to search their own PCs, PCs on the local network, and the 'Net. The old Windows Live Search (in beta as well) only allows for searching of the web.
