U.S. shares put on modest gains in Europe on Thursday, led by tech majors Cisco and Microsoft after a firm overnight performance on Wall Street helped lift European sector peers.
``The gains are in line with the rest of Europe. There is no real news driving the market,'' said a trader in London.
U.S. share index futures pointed towards a firm opening on Wall Street, with the March contract of the Dow Jones industrial average up 11 points and the equivalent Nasdaq contract up 6.5 points.
