Two leaders in online safety, MSN®, a leading Internet service, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), an internationally respected child safety organization, have joined forces to launch the Cyber Safe City initiative recognizing six U.S. cities that have made significant contributions to helping keep children and their communities safer on the Internet. MSN and NCMEC will recognize these leading markets and make their best practices nationally known to enable other communities across America to access and emulate them.
Based on a mutual commitment to online safety issues, MSN and NCMEC worked together to form the Cyber Safe City initiative. Kicking off May 1, 2003, with a press conference in New York City, the event marks the beginning of the nationwide Cyber Safe City tour, during which MSN and NCMEC will visit and officially proclaim each city a Cyber Safe City and provide a hands-on resource and recognition day for law enforcement.
