While it's more sim-like than its arcadey competition, casual sports gamers won't be turned off by 2K3. Almost every aspect of gameplay can be tweaked to suit your skill level. In addition to being able to adjust things like shot and passing accuracy, the game even comes with three difficulty levels of controller setups. The basic setting is virtually the same one that you've been using to pass, check, and shoot in rink titles for years. The game's advanced setting gives you a lot more control over your team. Shots and passes, for example, can be modified with the shoulder buttons. EA Sports raised the bar on controls with its right stick manual deke, but the advanced setting in 2K3 makes for a more complete ice experience.
