Research In Motion is launching new BlackBerry handhelds that can move among next-generation networks in Europe, Asia and North America.
The new two-way messaging devices, which were demonstrated Wednesday, are designed to "complement the increasing power of new 2.5G wireless networks worldwide," RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis said in a release.
RIM is one of many companies trying to appeal to the corporate market with wireless network applications. So-called next-generation networks are able to handle faster data transmissions and a higher volumes of voice calls.
