Microsoft Corp plans to increase its business in Russia and expand into the regions outside of Moscow, Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer said during a news conference. 'We see ourselves ramping up quite considerably in Russia,' he said in Moscow. 'The major concern we have is with software piracy.' The company's sales in the former Soviet Union rose 80 per cent in the 12 months through June, Mr Ballmer said. Microsoft currently has about 200 employees in Russia.
