Dear Windows Beta Participant,
Windows Vista build 5365 is now available. This build is another snapshot of our progress on our way to the Beta 2 milestone and will allow you to verify fixed bugs as well as check for new regressions that may have been introduced. We need your feedback quickly so it can be evaluated for inclusion into Beta 2. For this reason we ask that you download and install this build as soon as possible.
If you have 64 bit capable hardware we ask that you install the 64 bit edition for this build. If you wish to run the 32 bit edition we ask that you at least install 64 bit initially and provide any feedback you have before going back to 32 bit.
Build 5365 is only available in English and only the x86 and x64 Ultimate editions are being released. No other versions or images will follow for this build and build-to-build upgrades are not supported. Windows XP upgrades are not recommended at this time due to a few known issues that may prevent success.
5365 is:
- Only being released to the TAP, Beta Program and Partners.
- Intended to allow you to follow our progress and verify fixed bugs.
- Generally considered better than all previous builds, but is not tested as thoroughly. “Your mileage may vary”
5365 is not:
- A CTP or IDW build and will not be released to MSDN.
- Available in any other version besides Ultimate.
- Tested to the degree that a CTP or Beta build is though we believe the quality to be high.
We would especially like you to focus on x64 testing for this release. Besides x64 we ask that you focus on issues that you believe are critical to Beta 2.
