Digital Farm, a full service digital media design studio, today unveiled a new, breakthrough technology designed to elevate and extend DVD technology, enabling a new level of DVD media experience. This new technology -- the industry’s first DVD Enhancement Engine -- was developed by the Studio’s newly-created Advanced DVD Enhancement Team for Screenlife, LLC for use in the smash hit DVD movie trivia game, Scene It?™ Branded as Optreve™ by Screenlife, the DVD Enhancement Engine for Scene It? enables never-before possible DVD gaming experiences and has catapulted Scene It? into record breaking growth and popularity in the United States.
"We've built our business model on adding value for our clients through creative design and innovation. As an early pioneer in DVD media, we quickly realized that only the surface of DVD capability had been scratched – we wanted to delve much deeper and leverage the power of the DVD operating system to bring a new experience to the medium," said Bill Kuper, president of Digital Farm. "Screenlife approached us with a problem that no one could solve for them – creating a technology to bring a new DVD movie trivia game to life. The creation of Optreve was our first endeavor and the success of the game reflects the impact of this new technology on consumers. Now we're on to the next phase, working with clients like Screenlife to take DVD technology and the user experience even further."
The Optreve DVD Enhancement Engine is a first-of-its-kind DVD technology that enables traditional DVD players to randomly access hundreds of video clips and puzzlers, keep track of games already played and ensure a completely new playing experience for the user. This level of capability has never been accomplished before with DVD technology and has resulted in the creation of the world’s first DVD movie trivia game to combine the concept of a traditional family board game with a digitally-driven multimedia experience on DVD.
