I have the 80GB WD w/8 MB cache. No problems with it so far. What motherboard do you have? What chipset?

#2 - Could it be you have too many things consuming power in your machine on startup? The ide delay sounds like a good solution, unless you get a beefier power supply.

I considered getting one of these, but ended up opting for the plain old 80Gig.
